Our cows
At Shakespeare Hills, we have thought hard about the type of beef cattle that is right for our farm. It’s really important that we have cattle that fit our environment. We want to keep cattle that thrive strictly on what our farm produces, with no additional inputs other than minerals or salt. Over time, we have adapted our beef cattle breeding program to what actually works under our conditions here in the North West of Tasmania.
Our beef cattle genetics have been sourced from Pharo Cattle Australia, who’s objectives align with our own. Our beef cattle is crossed with our dairy cows to produce premium quality grass-fed and finished beef.
